John Taylor (Clayne Crawford) hatte alles bis ins Detail geplant. Der Banküberfall sollte ohne Komplikationen ablaufen, dennoch kam alles anders. Erwarte das Unerwartete: 'Dinner for One - Eine mörderische Party' ist in seiner Essenz nichts weniger, als das Spiel mit Genreregeln und den Erwartungen der Zuschauer. Ein außergewöhnlicher Thriller, an dem auch Alfred Hitchcock seine wahre Freude gehabt hätte. In der Rolle von Warwick brilliert David Hyde Pierce, bekannt aus der Comedy-Serie 'Frasier' (1993-2004), und stellt eindrucksvoll seine schauspielerische Bandbreite unter Beweis. Im Gegenüber steht ein nicht minder brillanter Clayne Crawford ('Lovesong für Bobby Long' 2004), der sich mit David Hyde Pierce ein Schauspielduell der Extraklasse liefert.
John Taylor (Clayne Crawford) had planned everything down to the last detail. The bank robbery was supposed to take place without complications, but everything turned out differently. Injured and wanted by the police, he is on the run. In search of a place to go into hiding, John gains access to the house of the inconspicuous Warwick Wilson (David Hyde Pierce) under false pretenses. The latter, for his part, is preparing for a dinner party that he wants to give that evening. When John decides to take Warwick hostage, everything turns out differently than planned. Warwick is not willing to skip his dinner party and John is supposed to be his very special guest...
Expect the unexpected: 'Dinner for One - A Murderous Party' is in its essence nothing less than playing with genre rules and the expectations of the audience. An extraordinary thriller that Alfred Hitchcock would have enjoyed as well. In the role of Warwick, David Hyde Pierce, known from the comedy series 'Frasier' (1993-2004), shines and impressively demonstrates his acting range. On the other side is a no less brilliant Clayne Crawford ('Lovesong for Bobby Long' 2004), who delivers an acting duel in a class of its own with David Hyde Pierce.
