Die junge isländische Bankangestellte Kristín (Vivian Ólafsdóttir) erhält kurz vor dem spurlosen Verschwinden ihres Bruders einen Videoclip, der ihn mit einem alten Flugzeugwrack im isländischen Eis zeigt. Kaum weiß Kristin die verstörenden Bilder zu deuten, sieht sie sich unversehens in den Strudel einer internationalen Verschwörung gezogen. Das Wrack entpuppt sich als ein jahrzehntelang verschollenes deutsches Flugzeug aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg, dessen Fracht offenbar so brisant ist, dass nicht nur skrupellose Kriminelle auf den Plan gerufen werden, sondern auch der CIA-Vizedirektor William Carr (Iain Glen) und der kaltblütige deutsche Agent Simon (Wotan Wilke Möhring) versuchen, Kristín als vermeintliche Mitwisserin auszuschalten. Kristín, die sich aus Sorge um ihren Bruder aufmacht das Wrack zu finden, schwebt in großer Gefahr, lässt aber nicht von ihrem Vorhaben ab, ihren Bruder zu retten und das Geheimnis des Gletschergrabes zu lüften. Ein hochgefährliches Vorhaben, dessen Handlung vom modernen Island nach Amerika und Nazi-Deutschland am Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs führt...

In den Hauptrollen spielen Wotan Wilke Möhring (aus 'Männerherzen' und 'Tatort') an der Seite der britischen und isländischen Darsteller Iain Glen ('Game of Thrones', 'Resident Evil'), Jack Fox ('Riviera', 'Sanditon') und Ólafur Darri Ólafsson ('Das erstaunliche Leben des Walter Mitty', 'Trapped') sowie der isländischen Neuentdeckung Vivian Ólafsdóttir ('It Hatched'). 'Gletschergrab' wurde in Island und Nordrhein-Westfalen gedreht. 'Splendid Entertainment' mit den Produzenten Dirk Schweitzer und Anita Elsani produzierte den Film zusammen mit der isländischen Produktionsgesellschaft 'Sagafilm', Hilmar Sigurðsson und Tinna Proppé. Als Executive-Producers fungieren Kjartan Thor Thordarson, Ralph Christians und Adalsteinn Johannsson und als Ko-Produzenten 'MMC Fiction' mit Jens Wolf und Neshe Demir sowie das 'ZDF' mit der Redaktion Doris Schrenner als koproduzierender Senderpartner. Shortly before her brother's disappearance without a trace, the young Icelandic bank clerk Kristín (Vivian Ólafsdóttir) receives a video clip showing him with an old plane wreck in the Icelandic ice. As soon as Kristin knows how to interpret the disturbing images, she finds herself unexpectedly drawn into the maelstrom of an international conspiracy. The wreckage turns out to be a German plane from the Second World War that has been missing for decades, whose cargo is apparently so explosive that not only unscrupulous criminals are called to the scene, but also the CIA deputy director William Carr (Iain Glen) and the cold-blooded German agent Simon (Wotan Wilke Möhring) try to eliminate Kristín as a supposed accomplice. Kristín, who sets out to find the wreck out of concern for her brother, is in great danger, but does not give up on her plan to save her brother and unravel the secret of the glacier tomb.
