Als der renommierte Pariser Jura-Professor Pierre Mazard (Daniel Auteuil) seine algerischstämmige Studentin Neïla Salah (Camélia Jordana) in deren erster Vorlesung verbal auseinander nimmt, filmen einige Studenten den Vorfall und stellen ihre Aufnahmen ins Internet. Da Mazard in seiner Standpauke nicht mit rassistischen Klischees gegeizt hat, ist der Skandal perfekt. Um einem Disziplinarverfahren zu entgehen, verdonnert ihn die Uni-Leitung, eine seiner Studentinnen bis ins Finale eines Rhetorik-Wettbewerbs zu coachen: ausgerechnet Neïla! Die ist ebenfalls alles andere als begeistert, lässt sich jedoch von Professor Mazard zu einer Zusammenarbeit überreden. Die gestaltet sich jedoch alles andere als einfach, denn Neïla ist mindestens so stur und voreingenommen wie ihr Professor. Und als sie erahnt, weshalb der sich ihrer angenommen hat, droht der Plan des Professors auf ganzer Linie zu scheitern...

When the renowned Parisian law professor Pierre Mazard (Daniel Auteuil) verbally dissects his Algerian-born student Neïla Salah (Camélia Jordana) in her first lecture, some students film the incident and post their recordings on the Internet. Since Mazard was not stingy with racist clichés in his speech, the scandal is perfect. In order to avoid disciplinary proceedings, the university administration orders him to coach one of his students to the final of a rhetoric competition: Neïla, of all people! She is also anything but enthusiastic, but is persuaded by Professor Mazard to cooperate. However, this is anything but easy, because Neïla is at least as stubborn and prejudiced as her professor. And when she suspects why he has taken care of her, the professor's plan threatens to fail all along the line...
