Als die Familie ins 'Heelshire Mansion' einzieht, müssen Liza (Katie Holmes) und Joseph (Ralph Ineson) bald darauf feststellen, dass ihr kleiner Sohn dort einen neuen Freund gefunden hat, eine Puppe namens 'Brahms': Eine junge Familie zieht in das Gästehaus des Heelshire-Anwesens, ohne zu ahnen, welche schreckliche Vergangenheit diesen Ort überschattet. Zur Überraschung der Eltern findet ihr Sohn dort schnell einen Freund namens Brahms. Doch Brahms ist kein Nachbarsjunge, sondern eine Porzellanpuppe, deren Einfluss auf das jüngste Familienmitglied zunehmend beängstigende Züge annimmt...

When the family moves into the 'Heelshire Mansion', Liza (Katie Holmes) and Joseph (Ralph Ineson) soon discover that their young son has found a new friend there, a doll named 'Brahms': a young family moves into the guest house of the Heelshire estate, unaware of the terrible past that overshadows this place. To the surprise of his parents, her son quickly finds a friend named Brahms there. But Brahms is not a neighbor's boy, but a porcelain doll whose influence on the youngest family member takes on increasingly frightening features...
